Once upon a time, a sleepy
town nestled in the mountains not far from Taipei contained the
biggest gold mining operation in all of Asia. In this
installment of Spotlight, we'll take you to Chingguashih's
Museum of Gold complex where we'll find the largest gold brick
in the world, explore the maze of old mine tunnels under the
mountain and see the hotel built for a prince that never came.
Along the way, we'll find out why
Chingguashih is the preferred setting for period dramas and
where vistors can still go to pan for grains of gold."
