According to an article in March on SOFREP, the United States has reportedly initiated a military collaboration with Taiwan, featuring the deployment of U.S. Army Special Forces colloquially known as the "Green Berets" to Taiwan to conduct training missions, such as assisting Taiwan special forces in learning to operate the Black Hornet Nano. The Black Hornet Nano is a military micro unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). SOFREP is an online media group that is not officially affiliated with the U.S. Department of Defense or the U.S. Army.

In a press conference on Thursday ahead of regular sessions in the Legislature, Defense Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng (邱國正) did not deny nor confirm said military training collaboration with the U.S. Green Berets. As of Thursday, there is no official update from the U.S. Department of Defense regarding said training collaboration.
