Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba to meet with US President Trump

The Japanese and United States governments are in the final stages of planning a meeting between Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba and President Donald Trump, according to reports by the Japanese media outlet the Asahi Shimbun this Thursday.

 

The meeting is expected to take place February 7 in Washington and include discussions regarding strengthening security and economic cooperation. Ishiba has indicated his hopes to establish a trusting relationship with Trump to further U.S.-Japan relations.
