Following Google’s pledge to invest £5 billion (US$6.8 billion) in the United Kingdom, Nvidia has announced plans to pour in £11 billion (US$15 billion) with partners to build the country’s largest-ever AI infrastructure.

U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in Britain on Tuesday for his second state visit, joined by Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang and OpenAI chief executive Sam Altman. Trump is the first American president to be invited twice for a state visit to the U.K.

A senior U.S. official said Monday that Washington and London will unveil more than US$10 billion in economic agreements during the trip. In a press release Tuesday, Nvidia said it is partnering with the U.K. AI infrastructure company Nscale to deploy 300,000 Grace Blackwell superchips worldwide, with 60,000 destined for Britain — one-fifth of the total. Nvidia, along with Nscale and U.S. cloud provider CoreWeave, will invest £11 billion to establish AI “factories” and build Britain’s largest AI infrastructure, providing computing power for OpenAI’s U.K. “Stargate” project.

Nvidia said the investment, unveiled during Trump’s state visit, underscores transatlantic cooperation in technology and trade.
