Just steps away from the bustle of Taipei, Yangming Mountain is a common destination for a quick trip out of the city. However, during certain seasons, its popularity can lengthen lines and wait times.
The autumn silver grass, also known as pampas grass, is in full bloom on Yangming Mountain. October marks the beginning of the season, and during the Double Tenth holiday, many people were inspired to take in the scenery and beautiful photos.
However, driving up during the long weekend required patience, with parking and shuttle bus waiting areas packed.
One man said that the line at the Qingtiangang lot was about half an hour long, and just now they had to wait 15 minutes to enter another area. They arrived especially early to avoid the crowds, but they still had to wait. Another said that the line wrapped around two or three times; it was so long.
One woman added that she saw a lot of influencers taking photos because the silver grass was blooming so beautifully on both sides of the road. A mom with children commented that even though the grass is only 30% bloomed, it's quite beautiful, and the kids can enjoy it.
The best spots to take in the scenery include: the iconic S-shaped steps of the Lengshuikeng Trail, Qingtiangang Hill, the main peak of Qixing Mountain, Xiaoyoukeng, and the Jinbaoli Trail.
Even with the heavy traffic and crowds, the silver grass-covered mountains have once again captured visitors' enthusiasm. Don’t pro-grass-tinate and miss your chance to see the autumn beauty of Yangming Mountain.
