Meteorologist Wu Der-rong (吳德榮) said Tuesday that a tropical storm is gradually approaching Taiwan, bringing cooler temperatures and rainfall toward the end of the week.
Wu said weather forecasts remain subject to change depending on how hot and cold air masses interact. The latest model simulations show several possible paths, with the storm most likely to pass through the Bashi Channel and the northern tip of the Philippines’ Luzon Island.
According to Wu, most areas across Taiwan will remain hot and sunny through Saturday, with isolated rain in mountainous regions and occasional short showers in eastern Taiwan. The Central Weather Administration (CWA) has issued a high-temperature advisory, warning of consecutive days with temperatures at or above 36°C.
Temperatures are expected to drop Saturday evening as the storm system brings in cooler air and moisture. Heavy rainfall may affect northern and eastern Taiwan on Sunday and Monday.
