In response to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s claim that Taiwanese electronic components are being diverted to Russia, President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) said in an interview Friday morning that he has asked Zelenskyy to provide Taiwan with relevant information.

Zelenskyy raised the concern during a speech at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, questioning whether Taiwanese components were reaching Russia and enabling continued missile production.

Lai reiterated that Taiwan stands with Ukraine and said, “We are willing to strengthen controls on goods routed through third countries and those that conceal their final destination in order to prevent them from entering Russia.”

In addition, Lai posted on the social media platform X, emphasizing that Taiwan has long cooperated with international partners and firmly supports Ukraine through humanitarian assistance and coordinated sanctions against Russia. He again expressed his sincere hope for a peaceful resolution to the Russo-Ukrainian war as soon as possible.
