Former President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) shared photos of her Lunar New Year’s Eve dinner with Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) on her Facebook page this Monday evening.

Lunar New Year Eve took place this Monday, a day that is typically celebrated with reunion dinners featuring foods that symbolize great fortune, prosperity, and longevity.

The former president spent her holiday dinner with the current vice president, writing her thanks to those working over the holiday. In the post, Tsai expressed gratitude to all of the military personnel, police officers, firefighters, and others who are still working to keep the nation and society running through the holiday. She wrote that she hopes everyone will eat well, sleep well, have their wishes fulfilled, and enjoy peace and good health in the new year.

Vice President Hsiao replied in the comments, thanking Tsai for inviting her to dinner every year and wishing everyone a happy, peaceful, and prosperous year of the horse.
