Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry said it supports the international community’s efforts to assist the Iranian people in pursuing freedom and democracy.

Following the recent U.S.-Israel joint airstrikes on Iran, Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry was asked to comment on the attack and ongoing retaliation against United States and Israeli facilities across the Middle East. Spokesperson Hsiao Kuang-wei (蕭光偉) voiced Taiwan’s support for the international community in assisting Iranian people in their pursuit for freedom and democracy.

“We hope the Iranian people can also enjoy freedom, democracy, and human rights soon,” Hsiao said. He added, “The Foreign Ministry also condemns Iran’s recent indiscriminate military attacks.”

Taking to social media, Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) highlighted the safety of every Taiwanese citizen in the region as a top priority, noting that the ministry will continue maintaining contact with its global partners to provide support and ensure their safety.
