Asia’s premier food showcase, FOODEX JAPAN 2026, the 51st International Food and Beverage Exhibition, kicked off on Tuesday and will run through Friday. Kaohsiung's top picks – like organic jams and honey – are stealing the spotlight again.

Kaohsiung got a head start, with its Agriculture Bureau showcasing products at Japan’s Farmers & Kids Festa 2026 from February 28 to March 1.

Kaohsiung City Government Deputy Secretary-General Kuo Tien-kuei (郭添貴) said, “We were invited to Japan’s Farmers & Kids Festa first, exhibiting Kaohsiung's honey dates and red-fleshed dragon fruit. These are now on shelves in major supermarkets and available via Tokyo TV.”

Last year’s expo generated export orders topping NT$356 million (US$11.2 million) for Kaohsiung. This year, buyer interest is surging, with lively on-site talks pointing to even stronger results.

Kuo continued, “We will continue to conquer the world with Kaohsiung’s top choice. Every stall in our pavilion today showcases the best taste and quality from Kaohsiung.”

The Agriculture Bureau rallied nine top food producers, while the Marine Bureau brought seven aquaculture firms – zeroing in on Japanese demand and flexing Kaohsiung’s innovative farm, seafood, and processed goods to global buyers.
