The Foundation of Medical Professionals Alliance in Taiwan (MPAT), along with six Taiwanese companies, attended the 25th Congress of the Japanese Society for Regenerative Medicine (JSRM) in Kobe this week. The “national team” made its debut on the international stage, showcasing Taiwan's integrated strengths in cell therapy, gene and cell therapy, iPSC drug screening, and automated cell manufacturing to the medical community, industry, and investors.
The six companies that joined included UWELL Biopharma, ARCE Therapeutics, Steminent Biotherapeutics, Inc., TLC BioSciences, LumiSTAR Biotechnology, Inc., and YJ Biotechnology Company. The MPAT stated that this participation symbolizes the Taiwan regenerative medicine industry's shift from single-technology to a systematic industrial layout, gradually establishing a strategic chain from R&D and manufacturing to clinical applications. Each of the companies has its own strengths, covering key areas from CAR-T cell therapy to the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
MPAT CEO Lin Shih-chia (林世嘉) stated that participating in the JSRM was not only about showcasing Taiwan’s technology, but more importantly, about expanding international cooperation opportunities. She emphasized that, with the gradual improvement of regulations and systems, Taiwan and Japan complement each other well in the field of regenerative medicine, and are expected to deepen cooperation in areas such as clinical research collaboration, technology exchange, and supply chain integration in the future.
