The Jane Goodall Institute (JGI) and the National Taiwan Museum have jointly launched a special exhibition to commemorate the renowned conservationist’s contributions and her 30-year friendship with Taiwan. Titled Inspiring Hope Through Action: Dr. Jane Goodall in Taiwan 1996-2025, the exhibit opened on Friday, March 27, and will run until April 12, aiming to help the public better understand Goodall's environmental philosophy and spirit.

Since her first trip in 1996, Dr. Goodall visited Taiwan 18 times over the past 30 years before she passed away in October 2025. The exhibit showcases precious compiled footage of Dr. Goodall's touching moments in Taiwan, as well as interactive installations emphasizing environmental protection.

JGI and Radio Taiwan International Chairperson Cheryl Lai (賴秀如) pointed out that Goodall foresaw 30 years ago how to inspire beyond her years. She said Goodall didn't use a didactic approach, but rather helped people feel how animals and humans can coexist, and how animals and economic development can coexist. Lai added that Taiwan is arguably the best place in Asia to implement the JGI Roots & Shoots program, which has been promoted worldwide with 1,000 classes participating in activities.

National Taiwan Museum Director Teng-chin Chen (陳登欽) also expressed his delight at having the opportunity to co-host this exhibition. He said he hopes that everyone will take action so that ecological conservation, the kind Goodall dedicated her life to, can yield results.
