The world’s leading semiconductor foundry, TSMC, will hold its investor conference on April 16. According to industry experts, the market is closely watching not only AI demand, but also the impact of geopolitical factors on supply chains and competition from the likes of Samsung.
During the online conference, TSMC will announce its Q1 2026 financial results and earnings outlook for Q2. Liu Pei-chen (劉佩真) from the Taiwan Industry Economics Services (TIE) Database at the Taiwan Institute of Economic Research says that the primary focus of TSMC’s earnings conference will be on the impacts of geopolitical turmoil, including the conflict in the Middle East and new tariff policies, on supply chain costs and consumer electronics demand, as well as response strategies for energy, critical gases and raw materials.
Another key focus of the conference will be the competitive landscape between TSMC and rivals such as Samsung and the Terafab project, jointly promoted by Tesla, SpaceX and xAI, which aims to build a semiconductor fab in Austin, Texas.
