Acclaimed actor Tony Leung (梁朝偉) made a rare public appearance at the 2026 Golden Horse Film Academy Master Class, drawing on four decades in film to offer this counsel to all filmmakers: “Prepare yourself, and when the opportunity comes, you will be seen.”

Organized by the Golden Horse Film Festival Executive Committee, the Master Class on April 13 featured three-time Golden Horse Best Actor winner Leung in conversation with Taiwanese actor Liu Kuan-ting (劉冠廷) as session moderator. Leung spoke about his approach to performance and his method of building out character details. He also recalled his collaborations with directors Wong Kar-wai (王家衛), Hou Hsiao-hsien (侯孝賢), and Jeffrey Lau (劉鎮偉).

The actor is also scheduled to attend a post-screening discussion for the 2025 film “Silent Friend” on April 14, followed by a press conference, before departing Taiwan on April 15.
