A delegation of lawmakers from New Zealand’s All-Party Parliamentary Group on Taiwan arrived in Taiwan on Monday, May 4. Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry says the group will take part in a number of meetings and activities to deepen their understanding of Taiwan, strengthen the friendship between the two nations and showcase Taiwan’s development across various fields.

The delegation includes lawmakers Maureen Pugh from the National Party, Duncan Webb from the Labor Party, Laura McClure from ACT New Zealand and David Wilson representing New Zealand First. The group will stay in Taiwan until May 8.

Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry says it hopes to build upon the existing foundation of friendship and continue to enhance the partnership between Taiwan and New Zealand through parliamentary diplomacy. It hopes to cooperate on promoting democracy, peace and regional prosperity and stability.
