Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party Youth Division Director Shojiro Hinaruma says Japan and Taiwan can strengthen cooperation in economic security and disaster prevention, given the current turbulent international situation. He spoke to the media at the Foreign Ministry on Tuesday, May 5.

Hinaruma, who is also a member of Japan’s House of Representatives, led a delegation of LDP Youth Division members on a visit to Taiwan from May 2 to May 6. He said the group met with Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴), Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu (韓國瑜) and various party representatives, as well as members of the business community.

Hinaruma noted that Taiwan and Japan can also continue to strengthen sister-city cooperations and people-to-people exchanges.
