Foreign Ministry’s Department of NGO International Affairs Director General Chiang Zhen-wei (江振瑋) says Taiwan plays a crucial role in global non-red drone manufacturing and hopes it can collaborate with like-minded countries to become the Asia-Pacific hub for a democratic drone supply chain. That came in a speech Chiang delivered at the Taiwanese-German Aerospace Conference organized by the German Trade office in Taipei on Tuesday, May 5.

Chiang, who heads the Foreign Ministry’s drone diplomacy task force, said Taiwan has excellent manufacturing capabilities and significant advantages in the global non-red supply chain. He added that as the geopolitical landscape evolves and drones gain importance, Taiwan’s drone industry can become a protective mountain range, establishing the country as the Asia-Pacific hub for a democratic drone supply chain.

The Foreign Ministry said that the conference not only facilitated technical and business exchanges between Taiwan and Germany but also demonstrated Taiwan’s standing as a reliable partner and the significance of promoting its drone diplomacy.
