Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu and a cross-party delegation of Taiwanese lawmakers visited the UK Parliament on Thursday, May 14, as part of their ongoing visit to France and the United Kingdom.

The British-Taiwanese All-Party Parliamentary Group hosted a reception for the visiting lawmakers at the House of Commons’ Churchill Room with nearly 100 guests in attendance, including Parliament members, think tank experts, business leaders, and Taiwanese scholars based in the UK.

The Group’s Chair Sarah Champion reiterated her support for Taiwan’s participation in international affairs and said she had on multiple occasions consulted with World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus regarding Taiwan’s participation in the body.

Han Kuo-yu also spoke with Conservative MP Iain Duncan Smith who co-founded the Inter-Parliamentary Alliance on China (IPAC), which connects lawmakers from over 40 legislatures worldwide.
