Team Taiwan achieved outstanding results at the 2026 Robofest, securing eight awards, including two gold, one silver, and one bronze medal. The international robotics competition was held from May 14 to 16 at Lawrence Technological University in Michigan, in the United States, where Taiwanese teams from elementary to high school went up against teams from 25 other countries.

The Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Chicago presented congratulatory messages from President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) and Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) to the winning students, recognizing their tireless efforts and hoping they will continue to strive for excellence and shine in their respective fields.

The Taiwanese teams’ consistent success at the Robofest has showcased the solid science foundation and competitiveness of Taiwanese students to participants worldwide. Most notably this year, Kang Chiao High School in New Taipei took gold in the advanced medical robotics category, and Washington International School in Taichung captured gold in the advanced creative category.

Held for a consecutive 27 years, Robofest is one of the premier international events for robotics design that strives to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). It allows young students worldwide to participate in various competitions using any robot assembly tools and programming languages.
