A visiting Czech delegation led by Czech Senate President Miloš Vystrčil met with National Development Council Minister Wu Cheng-wen (吳誠文) on Wednesday, June 3. The two sides discussed the achievements and the future of Taiwan-Czechia technological cooperation.

Wu and Vystrčil said that the establishment of the The Advanced Chip Design and Research Center (ACDRC) and the Taiwan Semiconductor Research Institute’s (TSRI) Prague office has provided an excellent model for bilateral exchanges between research institutions and industries.

Wu said at the meeting that Taiwan is actively deepening technological cooperation with like-minded partners and is hoping to strengthen ties with Czechia, where it has already established mechanisms for semiconductor research and development and talent training.

Vystrčil emphasized that besides diverse cooperation in science and technology, trade, and culture, the two sides are close partners who share the values of freedom and democracy. He expressed hope that Taiwan and the Czech Republic will build resilient, democratic supply chains on this solid foundation.
