U.S. House of Representatives’ Congressional Black Caucus Vice Chair Lucy McBath and Representative Valerie Foushee are visiting Taiwan from Tuesday, June 16, until Saturday, June 20.

Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍) said that the two lawmakers’ stay in Taiwan coincides with Juneteenth (June 19), a day that embodies the U.S. spirit of pursuing equality and human rights. He added that a visit at this time demonstrates that these are important shared values for the United States and Taiwan.

The Foreign Ministry said that the delegation will meet with President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) and Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴), as well as attend a banquet hosted by Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung. Meeting agendas include issues such as Taiwan-U.S. security, trade, and regional developments.
