The Food Taipei Mega Shows 2026 opened in Taipei on Wednesday, June 24, with nearly 1,800 exhibitors from 33 countries. Organizers said the four-day expo was its largest edition in recent years, with 4,750 booths and 21 national pavilions at the Taipei World Trade Center and Nangang Exhibition Center.

“We are not just opening a trade show. We are gathering at the world’s table here in Taipei,” said James Huang (黃志芳), chairman of the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), which organized the annual gathering.

Combining five shows covering food, food technology, biotechnology, packaging, and hospitality, this year’s theme is “Smart Eating × Green Living.” The food show, Taiwan’s largest food and beverage event, was named a “USDA Endorsed Trade Show” for the first time, organizers said.

“Beyond what we eat, Taiwan is changing how food is created,” Huang said in his speech, adding that Taiwan was “infusing our famous semiconductor strength into an AI revolution across the entire food ecosystem.”

During the first day of the expo, Agriculture Minister Chen Junne-jih (陳駿季) witnessed the signing of pork trade MOUs between Taiwanese meat industry representatives and counterpart groups from Singapore and the Philippines, which the ceremony host said marked “a new milestone” that could boost Taiwanese pork exports. Ambassadors and representatives to Taiwan were also in attendance at the trade show.

The Food Taipei Mega Shows 2026 runs through Saturday. More than 50,000 visitors are expected to attend the event, organizers said.
