A seven-member cross-party parliamentary delegation from Panama, led by the National Assembly’s Agriculture Affairs Committee Chairman Orlando Carrasquilla, arrived in Taiwan on Monday, July 6, for a five-day visit. The Foreign Ministry extended a warm welcome and expressed gratitude for the Panamanian friends’ steadfast support for Taiwan through concrete actions.
The ministry noted that this is the third cross-party parliamentary delegation from Panama to visit Taiwan in the past two years, which reflects a broad support for Taiwan among Panamanian lawmakers.
During their stay in Taiwan, the delegation will meet with Vice President Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴) and will be hosted at a banquet by Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung (林佳龍). The group will also visit the Legislature, the Mainland Affairs Council, the National Health Insurance Administration, the Kaohsiung City Government Water Resources Bureau, and the International Cooperation and Development Fund.
