The Commerce Development Research Institute (CDRI) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in the Czech Republic on Thursday, July 23. They aim to jointly build a Taiwan-Central and Eastern Europe industrial cooperation platform focused on emerging technologies like drones, technology and talent exchanges, and international market promotion and matchmaking.

According to the Finance Ministry, Taiwan’s complete drone exports reached almost US$116 million in the first quarter of this year, with approximately US$100 million going to the Czech Republic.

CDRI said that the MOU focuses on industrial collaboration in emerging sectors like drones and other unmanned vehicles. It aims to promote bilateral technology and business exchanges, connect academic and research institutions, deepen R&D and industry-academia talent exchanges, and combine resources from Taiwanese businesses abroad and local partners to enter international trade shows and tap into business opportunities.
