Taiwanese Taekwondo player Lo Chia-ling (羅嘉翎) won the silver medal at the World Taekwondo Championships in Mexico. She was defeated 0-2 by China’s Luo Zongshi (駱宗詩) in the women's 57-kilogram final.

Both athletes share a similar physique and fighting techniques. Lo is currently ranked 11th in the world and was a bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics last year.

The Taiwanese team’s head coach, Liu Tsu-yin (劉祖蔭) says Lo’s silver medal win boosted the team’s morale on the first day of the tournament.

Taiwan sent a team of 16 taekwondo athletes to compete in this year’s championships which began on Monday in Guadalajara, Mexico.
