The Taiwan Tourism Administration (TTA) highlighted LGBTQ+ friendly travel at its promotional event in Bangkok on Saturday, August 8. Featuring Thai influencers sharing their positive Taiwan experiences, the TTA focused on Taiwanese food, culture, lifestyle, and LGBTQ+ themes, connecting the local public with airlines, accommodations, restaurants, and travel platforms.
Thai celebrity Koendanai shared his Waves of Love route, saying that Taiwan's LGBTQ+ tourism environment was surprisingly pleasant and very friendly. He pointed out that he sometimes wore jeans and sometimes a dress, and he received mostly positive and supportive praise. Furthermore, he said that he felt no fear when holding hands or expressing affection with his partner and that he highly recommends Taiwan for those looking for LGBTQ+-friendly travel destinations.
Aside from influencers sharing their travel experiences, the event also featured large-scale immersive interactive activities, attracting over 300 audience members to participate in a digital quiz competition.
TTA Bangkok Office Director Cindy Chen (陳憶婷) stated that Thailand is an important market in Southeast Asia, where many tourists have visited Taiwan before and are interested in returning for new attractions and activities. She said that through social media and offline events, the TTA hopes to showcase in-depth itineraries with different themes to the Thai public.
