Anduril Industries co-founder Palmer Luckey said that Western countries aim to make Taiwan an “unworthy target” by increasing the cost of invading the island.

Speaking to 60 Minutes Australia, Luckey said the goal of countries including the United States and Australia is to convince China that launching such a conflict would carry an extremely high price. The best outcome, he said, is for China to be convinced that it should not act at all.

Anduril is delivering various weapons to Taiwan, including missiles, loitering munitions, and air defense systems. Luckey said the equipment is intended to make it more difficult for China to cross the Taiwan Strait, land on Taiwan, and launch an invasion, while air defense systems would protect critical infrastructure. 

He described the combination of offensive and defensive capabilities as an important part of deterrence. He also cited “Ghost Shark,” a large unmanned submarine developed jointly by Anduril Industries and the Australian Department of Defence. 

Luckey said Anduril is pursuing multiple space projects that will “surprise everyone.” The company already has satellites in orbit, and its software operates on satellites owned by other companies, where it has deployed and runs its AI brain. 

He also stated that robotic warfare is inevitable, noting that robots can perform dangerous missions without sacrificing human lives.
