An online platform set up to recruit volunteers for COVID-19 vaccine trials has now seen more than 20,000 people sign up.
The number of volunteers broke the 20,000 mark on Wednesday, just one week after the government launched the platform.
There are three potential vaccines for COVID-19 in development in Taiwan. These vaccines are expected to enter the second phase of clinical trials at the end of the year. More than 3500 volunteers are expected to take part in stage-two trials for each of the three vaccines, though the government hasn’t set a cap on the number of people who can sign up to take part.
