COVID-19: Number of Taiwan cases reaches 380

Editor: John Van Trieste

Taiwan announced one additional case of COVID-19 on Thursday.

The newest case is a case of domestic transmission, spread between two roommates in a university dormitory.

Since health authorities knew that one of roommates had contracted COVID-19, the other was moved into quarantine on March 30 as a precaution. Though health authorities could not detect any symptoms of COVID-19, they tested the quarantined roommate for the disease on Monday as an additional precaution. The test results have come back positive.

The addition of Thursday’s new case brings the total number of COVID-19 cases Taiwan has recorded so far up to 380.
