Deputy Foreign Minister Hsu Szu-chien is set to lead a delegation to Pacific ally Tuvalu from November 5-7.

During his visit, Hsu will meet with newly elected Tuvaluan Prime Minister Kausea Natano and other high ranking Tuvaluan officials. He will also inspect a Taiwan-sponsored agricultural project in the country.

The foreign ministry says that Tuvalu has long supported Taiwan in international settings. The ministry also says that Taiwan and Tuvalu enjoy close cooperation in fields such as medicine, clean energy, and agriculture.
