Foreign Ministry says U.S. Taiwan policy unchanged after ambassador’s China arms sales remark
The National Science and Technology Council’s (NSTC) 2026 Kiss Science event, now in its eighth year, is collaborating with the Taiwan Railway Corporation and the Taiwan Science Train for the first time starting September 24. NSTC Chairperson Wu Cheng-wen (吳誠文) stated he hopes that through joint efforts from the government, businesses, and research institutions, science learning can become integrated into daily life.
The event will feature over 30 interactive booths at Taipei Main Station and will also include a science cinema, bilingual science performances, and science games, promoting education through hands-on experiences. Taiwan Railway will be promoting themed trains, transforming stations into large-scale laboratories.
Wu stated that in addition to the cooperation of various government ministries, the private sector has also actively provided assistance, hoping to give the public and children more opportunities to personally experience science. He pointed out that this year's full Kiss Science program has been upgraded, with over 100 research stations and 34 hidden locations, while also launching walking tours and high school student exploration camps.
Wu underscored that scientific principles exist in all aspects of life, from everyday tasks and consumer goods to space exploration and deep-sea research. He thanked various government ministries, private enterprises, and research institutions for their joint efforts in popular science promotion, saying that he hopes to establish a solid foundation for science education and lay the groundwork for the long-term development of Taiwan's technology industry.
