Taiwan’s boxing champion Lin Yu-ting (林郁婷) won her second consecutive Asian Games title after defeating China’s Yang Chengyu (楊成宇) 5-0 in the 60kg gold medal match Friday, October 2.

Both Lin and Yang are highly decorated athletes: Lin won gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics, and in 2023 Yang won gold at the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships — setting up an intense match between two highly skilled fighters.

However, in all three rounds, Lin received high scores, dominating the competition with four out of five judges awarding her a 10-9 score in each round. By the end of the match, Lin claimed a decisive 5-0 shutout victory. Neither competitor received a count or any warnings throughout the match.

At the Hangzhou World Boxing Cup games earlier this year, Lin moved up from the 57kg weight class, where she previously won gold, to the 60kg weight class. Despite facing a new set of opponents with increased strength in her new class, she nonetheless prevailed, winning silver in that competition.

With this most recent win, Lin has once again proved her mettle by winning gold at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, successfully defending her title across two weight classes.
