The Tourism Administration has set a target for 12 million tourist arrivals in 2024 according to Transportation Minister Wang Kwo-tsai (王國材) in a Transport Ministry press conference on Wednesday.

Wang says that the ministry will also establish tourism service centers in India and Indonesia and emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation. He says that the Cabinet aims to promote tourism by integrating efforts of various ministries including the Ministry of Culture, the Council of Indigenous Peoples and the Hakka Affairs Council among others.

Wang says that the reopening of group tours for Chinese visitors and organized trips for Taiwanese tourists to travel to China will start on March 1, and noted that the government is committed to maintaining this schedule.

Tourism Administration Director-General Chou Yung-hui (周永暉) says that detailed information regarding the number of people traveling to China will be announced next week. However, he emphasized that the limit of Taiwanese tourists traveling to China of around 2,000 per day remains in place.
