PLA unilaterally launched the Justice Mission-2025 military around Taiwan without warning, and announced that it would hold live-fire drills prohibiting water and air traffic from entering five areas.

A magnitude 7.0 earthquake struck off Taiwan’s northeastern coast late Saturday, triggering widespread public warning alerts across nearly every county and city in Taiwan. 

President Lai Ching-te (賴清德) thanked the Taiwanese military and coast guard for their round-the-clock protection since the PLA Eastern Theater Command’s unannounced Justice Mission 2025 commenced.

China’s large-scale military drills around Taiwan have drawn concern from countries around the world, with foreign governments warning that Beijing’s actions risk heightening regional tensions.

China's extensive military exercises surrounding Taiwan this week have impacted over 100,000 international travelers and 6,000 domestic passengers.
