Two Indonesian migrant workers receive first-ever Outstanding Foreign Crew Award
Two Indonesian migrant workers were honored with the inaugural “Outstanding Foreign Crew Award” at the fisheries awards ceremony held by Taiwan’s Fisheries Agency on Wednesday, kicking off the events leading up to the National Fishermen's Day celebrations scheduled for September 12 and 13. This new award was created to recognize and show appreciation for the hard work of foreign crew members in Taiwan’s fishing industry.
This year’s 12 outstanding fishermen range in age from 35 to nearly 70, representing young, middle-aged, and senior workers. The winners come from diverse sectors, including distant seas fishing, coastal fishing, aquaculture, fisherwomen, and fishery resource conservation. They have contributed to sustainable fishery development in Taiwan through smart technology and innovative management.
